Hups,
ReplyDeleteit seems you posted the same entry twice (I assume you tried to post one entry on Eeva's session and one on Tapio's). Your post is quite short and doesn't offer many starting points for our dialogue. Could you elaborate (here in comments, no new post is needed), what you understand are the differences and similarities between on-the-job learning and practice periods (the kind that you have at home)?
Skills demonstrations mean that students give their demonstrations in authentic work places throughout their studies, not only the final year. The grades of these demos are taken into account even in the certificate the student gets from school (e.g. even if the student fails a test at school but can perform the task in the company, he gets pass. And vice versa, even if he passes a test, but cannot perform a work task, he may fail). How do you see, what are the pros and cons of this system? Do you think it could be applied in Saudi Arabia (I don't mean, can you implement it -obviously not, as the system isn't such- but do you think it could be applied, if the legislation changed)? Why yes or why not?
Is there anything you would like to share from the company visits you made (Vallila and hotel Kalastajatorppa)?
